I am always willing to enhance programs with poetry. Participating in this way helps to illustrate to others how helpful and impactful poetry can be when making connections.

The topics of my poems vary considerably, however I do find that faith, family and character development are common themes.

Like many other writers, I have enjoyed the writings of so many, however I would have to say that the works of poets Nikki Giovanni and Maya Angelou have had the greatest impact on shaping me.

Only a few, however when I’m planning for an event I try to commit as much the pieces that I’m presenting to memory, because I like to speak in a conversational tone.

Yes, so far I have been local, but as the pandemic situation improves I anticipate traveling more. Currently I’m working on zoom events as well as utilizing other social media opportunities where I can reach a broader audience.

As of right now I been blessed to have 10 published books available for purchase. I am currently on schedule to publish at least one more in 2021. The intent is to keep writing and sharing whatever God gives me.

Right now I would have to say “Hand-Me-Downs and Sweat Pants”. It was my first and I have been able to share more from that book than the others. By sharing I’ve been able to see more of an impact and response from others. In the future that could change as I share more from the other books available.

Not knowing anything about the buyer would make that decision too difficult. What I can say is that there is no wrong choice, since each book has such a variety of topics for discussion and contemplation.

So far all of my books are self-published. I was fortunate to have Destiny 11 Publications to assist with the first book “Hand-Me- Downs and Sweat Pants” and Books by L Mason has assisted with the self-publishing of the others.
